Faculty Focus: Problem Solving with Indigenous Worldviews as Our Guide

Participants will explore ways to integrate Indigenous worldviews into our curriculum and our instructional practices. The session will also review current gaps in our approaches to supporting Indigenous learners in a post-secondary context and will suggest collaborative methods that bridge multiple levels of our educational communities, ultimately enhancing the learning experiences of all of our members.

Professor, Sheridan College
Liz Dancy is a professor of Applied Computing at Sheridan College with a special interest in self-healing, self-controlling systems. Prior to joining Sheridan, Liz spent seven years in industry working in software development and autonomic systems design. In addition to computing, Liz has a keen interest in integrating Indigenous values into curriculum as well as facilitating accessible learning in the classroom.
